had alot of football bets on today and ended up a dissapointing +$20 from what it could have been. at 1 point i was set to win about $280 if blackburn would have stayed a draw and liverpool would have held their lead. with a centre back firing in a 93rd minute winner for blackburn (i bet on a draw), and a late equalizer by fabregas in the 80th minute when liverpool should have already put the game away, i was down to only +$15 from that bet. so gutted, even if 1 would have come in itd av been worth another $70 or so.
anyway, i played poker abit tonight and was feeling it, altho i didnt end up making much. i thought i was goin on tilt at 1 point when i ws losing with the best hands all in before the showdown, but then i realised i stil had plenty chips after i lost so i calmed down.
ive been playing on my old account abit and together with my footy bets of this week and last week, and my poker, ive managed to get back alot of my losses and transformed my account from $45 to $199....heaven!!!!!
looks like poker isnt looking so bad after all hey? lets hope it continues

pretty shit today, played 4 games and went out with the best hand in pre every time, 1010 vs 99 vs KQ, K river. in fairness KQ was big stack and had already invested, cnt remember wot other hands were, im still in 2 of them but i expect to get coolered so thought i met aswell write it now then icn clik post n go hit tiger woods on the wii wen im done.

i did a post the other day but my internet fukt up n deleted it all so i left it until i played again.
i changed my playn because im only good at cash wen im playing with my mates, i cnt win ne sort of decent money with such shit limits on PP.....so im back playing STT as my target.
with this account im confident i cn stay clear of side bets, sports and table games partycasino/bets have to offer. i can go on them on my other acount which i got from $44 to $135 and a possible $180 if newcastle ship crucial 2mro...1-time.

i came home from work 2day n thought, wot is my goals in the short-term now. all i do is go t work n play footy, n as far as pokers concerned its been sucha big part of my life i cnt rly give it up. which is why i have decided t give the grind another go.

the last order?
i think this could well be my last ever post. iv managed t wittle my BR from $420 to around $140 in 1-2 months wen i ws intendint to get it from $280 to the 1k mark.
iv probably tilted off a gud portion of my losses but that was because i was getting fukt in every single game i played. it just seems like the poker gods shone on me 1 time n now r kicking me up the arse everytime i play, no matter if its live or online.
if my luck changes i may write again but till then im signing off.

i hate losing
now i remember y i dnt play poker as much, cs i feel like shit wenever i lose n get fukt. after my 1st beat i decided t record how i go out in the other tables t c if its my fault or the fukin programs.
i played 5 stt's n heres how it went, -$30. its like such a small amount compared t how much i won but it dus my tits in wen i get called with shit n they hit...every time
1st game, went out with KK vs 88
2nd game, out with A9 vs 55 on J93 flop he called my all in
3rd game out with 1010 vs 66

back on the horse
ive just recently started to get back into poker. i was on holiday for a week and between my big win and the day i got back from holiday, i hadnt played any online stuff at all.
yesterday i sat down n was wondering what t do n decided t give poker a bash, i looked at the limits n for some reason just stuck to my lower limit games because its more relaxing and in fairness, just because i won a monster amount i dont want it to change my long term life and go much deeper into poker, so for now im sticking to the bread n butter.
i played a $11 stt, a $6 20 seater n 2 $6 20 seater. i came 1st in my $11 n made a net profit of $21.
today i came on and was so enthusiastic about poker, i just wanted to play. i played a $6 20 seater n a $6 stt, came 4th in 20 seater cs started gambling more, wud rather push 4 1st than try win 10/20 dollar. then came 2nd in stt.
i then had bit of break n played on my WII, then started 4 $6 stt at once. i played well in all and won sum coin tosses, with the end result 2x1st n 2x2nd which is pretty gud for a net profit of $56. not bad since i normally make that in 1 shift at work. pretty sure im finished for the day now, but am glad iv gotten back into it and am now setting my sites on grinding the $260 upto $1k playing mainly $6 stt and 20 seater, n the occasional $11. prob try n qualify for the 300k again on a few occasions in the $11 mtts n try win big again, prob wont happen tho in fairness.

livin it laaarge
so iv been spending like theres no tomorrow, im off on holiday on sunday nite on a cruise with my family and cousins family, bought a nintendo WII which is gr8 fun and splashed out on much needed clothes.
i cant believe how little desire i have to play online anymore, it just seems boring, or unnecessary grinding it out for afew bucks when i could do other stuff with my mates.
i think since my big win iv only played 4 games, all on the same day at the same time. played a $6 stt, $11 stt, $6 20 seater n $6 50 seater. came 1st in 20 seater for $40 with a net profit of $11, stil a 5er i gess.
off t jonesys 2nite t play tpt neway, c if i can knock the ginster off 6th n qualify myself for the final.

facking MENTAL!!!!
so afew days ago i played a $11 tourny qualifier with 70 players in which top 3 qualified for the $215 $300k gtd on partypoker.
iv watched Jonesy and Brent play multis all the time and seen them cash good, n just once i wanted this experience. if it wasnt for them 2 id probably be asleep right now
i managed to qualify for the 300k gtd on wednesday and since then have been so excited for the tournament, not because i ever imagined i could do well, but bcause of the experience in playing in a £100 buyin.
the tournament started at 5.45 and i decided to move upto my room so i could concentrate with just my music on. 1440 entered with top prize of $60k available for the winner. i started ok winning sum small hands with people unable to lay down A high. i then tilted off half my stak, 1st trying to outpot a guy on a FD, in which he still called n hit, then the very next hand trying to take sum1 off top pair with my AQ.
i calmed down and doubled up shortly after with AJ suited on a Q10x flop 4 diamond total. i hit my diamond and was back to the starting stack.
to be honest from here to 250 left i dont remember much of it. i was on 15k with average about 26k when i hit JJ. i had planned to play ultra tight and fold verything because $390 for 200th was a massive increase to my BR of $42. i shipped all in anyway and was called by AQ, a 89J board doubled me to 30k, 2 hands later i hit AA and doubled up again through chip leader 88. by now i had double the average and played tight until there were 200 left, steeling blinds on button etc and was on about 65k when i reached the money.
i kept grinding n players fell quickly once every1 made the money. by brother had been watching me for an hour now and playing when i needed the toilet, probably every 30 mins cs i ws shitting the concept of a few hundred pounds.
i managed to wittle down to the last 20 with $1500 in the pocket. from here to the final table is again, a bit of a blur. players fell now n again until there were 13 left and i was faced with the concept of making the final table in the biggest tournament of my life.
big holla to all my mates who were watching and giving ultimate support. cal, brent, hes, ferg, dewar... my round for sure cheers boys
i managed to get to chip leader on my table with a 600k stack and blinds at 30/60k. i reached final table about 6th in chips and confident i could do well.
with 8 left and completely card dead i went all in fairly late with AQc, the SB reraised all in and i was thinkin this is it. BB pondered for a while and folded and the SB flips 99. i had won with 99 twice that night in coin tosses so was sure this was it for me. the flop came 983, 1 club and i was devestated, with my bro n mum behind me watching and a moan when the 9 came down. the turn brought another club and with my head in hands i was screaming CLUB 1 TIME!!!!
the river brings a fuckin club and im way back in it, would have been out with $4200 otherwise. (4.5% to win that hand after the flop)
eventaully we got down to 4 and with the blinds so big i had t start making a move. i was gna push with A8 after min bet by button but just called and he took down pot with 107 after hitting 10 on river vs me n bb, decent pot considering the blinds. the next hand he min bet again and i elected to push with A6. e flipped K9 and a J on turn game him the straight and sent me out.
i was absolutely extatic to take the $16,350 4th place which will pay for my gap yr n put sum cash in my pocket 4 clothes and uni. 7 hours of hard graft and 3 years of poker had paid off in 1 night....unbelievable
off out with family tonight to celebrate, ontop of the world right now.

my casino love and online hate
iv been to the casino twice since the last time i posted, played the £10 1 addon/rebuy and last night played the £10 freezeout
not alot happened for me in the £10 addon, lost 2 coin flips, 1 with 22 in bb vs A10, he hit AA on turn and river. 2nd hand which was for alot more chips i push with 66 BB calls with AK and the board came 37Q 7 Q meaning his A high with 2 pairs played. busted in mid pack. decided to hit the floor games and played some roulette with the usual 12 18 19 32 33 numbers. hardly hit anything and missed 2 spins while i went t get more money. the next 2 which i missed were 12 and 18-gutted. with 10er left i put £2 on 17 aswel as some other smaller bets on usual numbers and 17 came for £72 pound. then hit 2 flushes in 3 card poker playing blind the last hand so was dead even for the night.
last nite was a different story however. i had such a good time and my table i started on was full of character and rookie. 2 guys clearly had never played before, 3 had won it before, and the guy to my right was here from australia seeing his son play rugby, he was a rly nice guy.
dint hit many hands early on, and the first hand i hit was AK but after a powercut, they decided to redeal, sick.
30 minutes gone and a free drink later, the lights were back on and i won 3/4 hands. i felt good, and went into the break with 17k after starting with 10k.
the field of 55 slowly diminished and with about 28 left i hit AA and was paid off by the donk who called my bet with 34 and put me all in on 59K flop. a 2 on turn sets my heart racing but he misses and im back in there.
i got moved tables and won an all in in SB with 105 d vs 92 on 983 flop 2 diamonds, i bet he push i call n hit 10 on river. a few hands later i get AA again and beat 32d on 998 2 diamond flop. upto 65k.
going into final table i have about 48k and the table is pretty weak. i get card dead 4 a while though and blind down to 20k. i played well goin all in with A rag and low pp and got upto 250k and chip leader. won a sick hand vs my mate with 76 vs his Q6 on J66 flop, spiked 7 on river, sorry mate
anyway final hand of the night my other mate goes all in blind, SB calls and i have A10. i figure im prob gna cum 2nd either way if i call or if i fold, unless i win and decide to call. SB has KK and hits trips on flop. all over and i take £120 for my effort. a v.good night and prob the most enjoyable of my casino visits.

casino ship ship
hey, so on a poker milestone i cashed for the first time at the casino the other day, came 2nd for £230 in the £10 1 rebuy which i was chuft with.
a few memorable hands
21 left not short stakt but not got many chips, the button pushes all in and i look down at an A, i wud call neway with 1 A bt after cheking the other card and that being another A i decide im prob ahead and call, take it down.
on the final table i started shortest stack and managed t get myself down to 7k, blinds 3/6 waiting for 8th to go out so i make money. after making the money i look down at AK on button. a limp behind me and i go all in for 7k, 1k more than BB. SB folds even though he has loads and bb and limper call. flop is Q high and limper bets min and BB folds. i stand up expecting to lose and turn brings A. "sit urself down" says SB who passed 69 and wud have made a set, ship.
another crucial hand was my AJ splitting with AQ after board paired twice on river meaning both A high play
anyway i was going all in with A7, A4 etc late positions and managed to become chip leader after winning with AJ vs A9 all in pre... maybe this is my day, and after hearing 1st is £350 i began to get more optimistic
3 of us are left to play for last 45 mins and with no change in chips much the last 3 hands is called.
1st 2 hands a guy pushed all in and we both folded. last hand i had 107 bb and button goes all in blinds. i decide after a short while and sum croud encouragement to call and he flips 47, that hand was worth an extra £105 as well all had £120 for sure.

eye on the prize
been mostly playing $6 stt really, only occasionally though, between revision and that.
played 2 or 3 20 seaters aswell and in a 30 seater as we speak b4 i go t sleep (currently 2nd with 7 left)
i took a shot at the $11 regular mtt today and started off amazingly well. i was 3rd in chips for a short while, but lost all momentum when i reraised a guy with KK on bb and after he thought for ages decided to call with A9 and hit A on flop. pretty card dead from then on and ended up finishing 35th for $30, had my eye on FT for a long while but not today.
anyway gna have a really good day revising tomorrow and hopefully a big win will come soon. cant wait for after tuesday, last exam and i can hit casino big time in search of a FT atleast.

a new quest
thought i hadnt posted in a while and since im still playing now and again i decided to tell you wot iv been doing
so since i only had $70 and been running bad for a while i decided to play sum stuff i wdnt normally and c if i cn increase my BR quickly in a short while.....not happening
im enjoying playing backgammon aswell which mite b sad bt its gud fun.
i lost $16 in 1 night after bubbling with AQ vs QJ all in pre, he decided to reraise me after my bet on button, he prob thought i was weak on button raise but wotever.
so iv decided to restart my grind after my exams are done and get from my appauling balance to what it could be once more, it was a laugh last time and hopefully i can learn from my mistakes.
if i get bored with that il probably redeposit and hit the multis and if i start running gud 4 abit, with confidence i hope i can do well. thats if the beats stay away
now im not sure if i am the best multi player because i tend to tighten up abit when blinds get loads bigger but my mate, dave leknave jones keeps shipping it so badly every day that its given me enthusiasm to do the same
il post again when this actually starts

end of a day
iv finally decided to withdraw most of the funds i have.
im spending alot of money atm and since iv given up 1 of my jobs, cant really afford to go out like id like to at this time of my life.
since im on such a bad run i figure i can cool it down for abit and also hopefully i wont play as much for my exams.
i got down to $400 today and cant seem to make any money atm so just wasting my time is pointless
i will redeposit after my exams and get down to some serious mtt hoping to ship it badly

absolute sickest beat in the word
i just got the worst beat iv ever had in my life no word of a lie
i get QQ late position sum guy goes all in pre, guy with slightly more chips than me calls and i reraise all in.
the cards are flipped the original all inner has A7, other guy has 99
the flop comes 9QA, turn x river.....9 the first time i have ever been 1 outed im actually speachless and so annoyed at the same time. would have taken me to a huge chip leader in an $11 tourny im so sick
also played in an $8 qualifier but lost with QQ to AA on AQ9 flop. wheres my 1 outer hey?
since im on with these shit beats i just lost the final game im gna play 2nite with KQ vs Q10 all in pre. i ws rly looking forward to playing alot of poker tonight but iv decided to call it a night now because of whats been happening.

Casino
Last nite was a laugh. i started on a good table with chiprich and took down 1st hand with a semi bluff on turn failing and managing to take him off it on river.
i stayed on just above the starting stack pretty much all game before the break and added on giving me 9.6k stack after the break.
shortly after our table got split and i joined kev cheung, jonny hes and chiprich on my new table. hardly and banter and probably worse players but still have a laugh. after 10 minutes the dealer got knokt out and chiprich basically forced me t deal which i didnt really mind that much. i lost a large amount of my stack to KK with my AK which i managed to get away from and from then on not much more happened. with blinds 1600/800 and a stack of 3k i needed something to happen. in the bb after 3 limpers and a hefty raise i gave my cards a tap and flipped them up. "i guess il have to go all in". thanks to the raiser every1 else folded and he flipped 99. upto 11k.
the tables got split and shortly it was down to 2 tables, with jonny hes and sophie. i managed to win an all in bet on the button with J9 vs KQ and got to 26k.
i made a few steels but i fell when my 66 push all in with 6 pple was called by this tosser in BB who had AA n gave it "hmmm shud i call" after like 2 minutes he called and i was out in 12th
So id say a very enjoyable time and cant wait for the next one. thanks to my 10% deal with jon hes who finished 3rd for a v respectable £185 i took £20 from the tourny and ended up £15 down for the night.

wots been happening
so i guess i havent had a bad couple of days poker wise, replenishing the majority of my losses the other week, although this could change slightly if i lose both the stt im in now.... doubtful
aswell as playing poker, iv been playing abit of partygammon and partycasino slots. lets face it the slots r rubbish the majority of time, but its abit of fun and diversifying from poker to slots now and again is relaxing and summit to do. i got from $6 to $28 on it last nite after some amazing luck but then blew $15 of this while lieing in bed after playing abit of poker.
i have decided to get tough on myself again and stay away from these shitty games. no more. theyre alrite if ur bored but u can never beat the bandit (monkeys) so it seems pointless. il still play abit of gamme because that involves skill but partycasino is gone for good, hopefully.
im unsure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, id say good for me, but nowadays i just dont have the lust to play poker every hour of every day, and with my exams in full motion this is definately a plus.
im off to the casino tomorrow nite for £10 double chance which im really looking forward to. i havnt played in a while and my game has definately improved from the tight-as-a-virgin type player i used to be live. i had a warm up with my mates (fish) and somehow managed to place, only got my money back but with people calling reraises with 83 and even an all in for all his massive stack with 56 suited!!! i was happy. also joining us will be the great leknave and horneris aswel as other members of the TPT. hopefully itl b a gud night, il report on thursday how it went.

ive been continueing with the $11 today, think i played 4 altogether aswell as a $10 step which is the 2nd round of 6, top prize taking home $2k so thats what im gna be working towards on the side of my $11 stt. in the step 2 i finished a dissapointing 5th. after losing with KQ vs 44 all in with big blinds i managed to fight my way back into the action but it just wasnt to be, id have been happy coming 3-4 and having another crack at it but instead i dropped down to step 1. at the same time however i was already in a step1 which i had free entry for from ages ago and managed to win that so ended up having 1 entry on step 1 and 1 entry to step 2-same as before, big of a waste of time.
iv ended up the day with a decent profit for my BR and its annoying to think i would normally have to work for 5 hours in the newsagents to the same result.
i got a txt from a friend tonight at 8.25 asking if i wanted to go for a jog so i booted up a $11 turbo (my favoured tourn) and accepted the invite. by 8.50 i had 15k out of the 20k on the table and dominating. i obviously took down the win and the $50 1st place prize, and in all this still managed to get a decent amount of school work done for my exam on friday.

the grind is over
the grind is over....wots more to say. ive failed.
or have i? iv decided that playing cash isnt working anymore and i just cant really beat it big time nemore. iv starteed playing STT again and more recently $11 rather than $6. iv been doing really well on them, even though iv been getting quite a few suck outs with the usual AK vs AQ on river. since my last blog its been all ups and downs, i got to $540 after making +$65 profit on the premiership, then went down to $440 after getting sum tough luck on cash. i moved to $11 STT and kept playing my $6 20 seaters and got it back to my current BR in 5 or 6 days.
im definately enjoying playing the $11 and think im ready to play these slightly higher limits than i usually would, probably because id load $10 each time onto cash tables so feel comfortable playing with this amount.
my exams officially start this week so im going to try working alot more and pokering a lot less, also my BR will be pretty much frozen for a while. wish me look in the upandcoming weeks

shipping it so badly
Ive basically been spending a fair bit of time playing multis and abit less time playing cash because iv had more time on my hands. iv been playing the $6 20 seater and 50 seater and doing really well. in my last 6 games iv had 1st x 2, 2nd x 2 and 2 bubbles. im playing really well and i think my game is suited for low player tournys as opposed to larger 300+ players.
i kno i intended to just grind it out on cash and keep moving up blinds but if i enjoy multis more and am making more money should i change my plan? i said i wanted to make $1000 in summer when i had loads of time but with what iv been making recently this could easily double.
aswell as this i won £50 on a scratchcard 2day which mde me well happy since i thought it was only £25 and didnt see the extra £25 bonus.
i checked out my partypoker sharkscope 2dy which only records the multis you do and my ROI was something like 130% which i think is wicked.
anyways loving poker at the minute so lets hope this continues

its growing....
so it seems appropriate to tell you how ive been running since its the beginning of the month.
this last half month has been the best yet really ive enjoyed winning and taken losing as it came which it inevitably does. iv started football betting again on my poker account, i was +24 profit last week and +32 profit this week which obviously has helped boost the BR.
But its not all been football. as far as poker goes iv moved up stakes and been doing fairly well. the 1 really fortunate bit of luck i got was beating KK all in pre with QQ, loved it. im playing $.1/.25 stakes now and the players are slightly better and more willing to lay hands down rather than chasing everything under the sun. iv figured that once theres a pot worth taking and i think a player is waiting on a draw, i bet big and take the pot that there is. speculate to accumilate i guess. im playing more poker than i was now aswell even tho its the exams coming up, so im hoping/praying im not becoming an addict just yet.
also on the poker front i got my Pokerstars hat and teddy through today which i ordered about 7 weeks ago. all credit to the site they emailed me saying it was late and again when they had reshipped it so cheers stars.
i guess i should give a final shout out to the TPT boys who travelled to luton or werever the hell it was. anyway the ginster took down the tourn in 1st and shipped £1600. maybe this could be me someday, but for now il stick to online and keep trying to reach my $1000 target.

up n down like a yoyo
this last week has been crazy. i got my account up to $180 2 days after my last post but then went on 2 tilted sessions after getting sum bad luck and got down eventually to $135 2 days later. nightmare. i was scared all my hard work would have been in vein and inevitably the money made would be heading back to the online shitbags.
Thankfully i managed to turn it around and started playing well again. there is some bad news though. i started playing multis/heads up which, when tilted can destroy a bankrole. the first multi i played i came 6/50 and got $15 although i should have got alot more. annoyed that i got screwed i played another, and came about 10th, and another, and another. i realised i was getting nowhere so i started HU. i won the first one playing against a good player. So i played another, against a twat who ws rubbish and very card lucky. i lost so paid another $6 again. the same guy joined my table and inevitably with his amazing luck i lost again. a couple more and this meant i was down about $30. i started playing cash and after my QQ lost to KK on a KQ3 flop i was gutted and tilted once again. so not only did i play tables i said i wouldnt until my BR was bigger, i also stupidly tilted wasting about 3 weeks of grinding.
So i havent yet reached my $250 target by the end of the holidays and i havent really finished the coursework i wanted to but who cares, things are looking up now and some of my mates have signed up so i get to play wit them now increasing my confidence and making the whole grind even funner

Thankfully i managed to turn it around and started playing well again. there is some bad news though. i started playing multis/heads up which, when tilted can destroy a bankrole. the first multi i played i came 6/50 and got $15 although i should have got alot more. annoyed that i got screwed i played another, and came about 10th, and another, and another. i realised i was getting nowhere so i started HU. i won the first one playing against a good player. Is there really a poker god?

today was more like the partypoker i kno and less like the pokerstars i love to forget about
My favourite hand of the day has to be with 9s 10s after calling a raise of 4x bb from the SB, and since there were 2 others that called i decided to go in.
the flop cam 7s 8s 9h.....heaven. the bb raises again so i put him on an overpair but figure im stil ahead. i just call and with another 9 o the turn i kno im ahead. the original raiser ships it all in and i obviously ship it home. he flips QQ so i tripled up in that hand.
this was just a short post since i only played for about 45 mins tonight after coming home 4rm the pub 4 an earlyish night. dont wori i only had 1 pint otherwise i wudnt have played. no drunk poker ye?

throw me a fricking bone
i was going to post my recent performances 2 days ago but i thort id wait to see if my luck picked up.
in 2 words....it didnt, in fact it just got a whole lot worse
for the first time in my blog, i am having to post that i am down from my last one.
as well as getting shit luck, iv also started playing shit. y do i keep trying to bluff and refusing to lose a pot? WTF IS MY PROBLEM!!! fold for fuck sake
another reason why im down is because i cant hit a flop. if i limp with a low PP i get shit all on the flop, but if i am forced to fold from a raise i wud have made a set.
this happens to all bidding poker players though so im not too worried. your luck goes for a while and im sad to say because of this, the tilt monster has come out, especially tonight where people trying to bluff me have got lucky on the river.
i think the only positive note today is that i played a HU match-an old pastime of mine, and i won. it was hilarious though. the guy i played min raised preflop and then if i checked after the flop, he would raise 10x bb atleast. all i had to do was wait for a hand, induce the bet and then ship it home. the guy was called novisbob-quite a suitable name id say.
am i planning to change how i play? yes. i will play like i used to and stop being a hero. AND FOCUS FFS. concentration is key to becoming a good player.

Recap time
Been working tonight and got a coursework deadline for tomorrow so havent played much last 2 days. i played for 5/6 mins tonight just because i got the urge and won $5 dollars or sumthing in that region which is alright. works out at $60 an hour so il take it.
just thort id report on the shape of my BR and my next milestone because couldnt remember if i had already. i am aiming to reach $250 before i move up limits again to $.1/.25 or something along those lines and with easter holidays coming up i will have plenty of time to reach this. i am hoping by the end of the holidays (2 weeks) i have all school work done which i need to, revision in full motion and over $250 in the kitty. we will soon see.

Up the stakes
I am pleased to report that i reached my $120 target tonight which means i allowed myself to move up the blinds to $.05/.1 and you may think what? you made $50 in one night on $.02/.04 blinds? afraid not, i recommended a friend to Party so they gave me a $50 bonus. i was thinking about ignoring this and instead aiming to get $170 so i would have reached $120 in my own mind but whats the point? i only wanted, no needed to reach $120 so i would only be risking 5% of my BR at any time, the sooner the better.
So how did i fare in this unknown territory? pretty good. i was planning to buy in for $6 and moving down to 4 tables until i settle in but automatically opened 4 games and deposited $4 on all. its all good though because i still made plenty on the allowence i gave myself. i made a good call on the flop after a preflop call from my reraise with AK on a 4 7 9 board. he had A10. did he think he was winning? i was suprised with how well i did actually on these blinds, it seems so much more easier to beat it and take their money. ended up winning $13 in the first 7 minutes
before playing these blinds i must confess i stuck sum money in my old limits, managed to get down to 52c after by 78 on an A78 flop was beaten by A8 and with an 8 on turn i could never have got away from it. on leaving the table i had $8.50 though which tipifies how well i am playing even after such a beat.
Isnt poker a great game? sometimes.

Whats been happening?
So what have i been upto recently? well ive changed from 4-tabling to 5-tabling which means i am playing more hands and inevitably winning more money. i seemed to hit 2/3 amazing flops tonight.
The first was my 10 5 on bb the flop coming 5510 2 spades, i chek n 1 guy bets pot, other calls n i call. the turn is another spade so gessing 1 of them was calling with a FD, i bet quite big. i get reraised and all 3 end up all in. end of hand 1 mucks and other shows K high flush.
The second was my A10 with a 1010A flop, obviously i took that down with a fair profit.
The third was a strange 1. i have KK on SB. there is a raise so i decide to reraise and 1 called. the flop is AK7 so assuming he has atleast an ace i bet. he reraises so i put him on AK at this point. the turn is another A so im not sure if im winning or not. i continue to check/call and end up taking a nice pot as he flips A10. bad read but i stil took a nice pot.
So im doing quite well atm. i was so tempted to do sum STTs tonight but decided to stay strong and disciplined. turned out well for me tonight. i am still trying to work my BR upto $120 so i can move up to the next blinds. things are looking promising at the moment. can i actually complete a successful challenge of turning $20 into a decent sum? time will tell.

up up up
I realise i havent posted for a while but ive been busy with school, paintballing and footy so i havent played much. i finished with my 1st loss today before i went out. it was only a loss of $4 but still pretty demoralising as it was the first time iv left the site with less than i opened with.
so today i played for about 15 minutes before football while my girlfriend was still in bed. she woke up and i obviously couldnt concentrate which is why i ended up down. i left the tables knowing i didnt want to lose any more money because i couldnt focus
i played tonight and won a few nice pots, 1 of which stood out. i had J6 on sb and with 4 limpers i call and bb checked. the flop was 664 2 diamonds i checked, bb bet out about the size of pot and 2 others called. i decided to raise fairly big and raised to the size of the pot. bb called and after a short wait 1 other decided to call. i knew now he had the FD. the turn brought 10d so i knew i was beat but if a 4,6,10 or J came i would take it. i bet about 10x bb,not much cmpared to the pot, bb reraised minimum and the other person who i kned had the flush called so i called with not much money left. the turn brought a 10 filling me up and i obviously went all in for not much more and took it down. loved it
i may do abit more grinding later tonight and have thought about putting some money into a seperate acount to play stt and mtt. my cash game is definately improving tho as i used to play really tight in turbo tournys so if i didnt hit cards then that was it. but now in cash i play all sorts depending on my position.

So the role continues
tonight has been another good night. im not really sure what is happening.
and the grind against poor players has also improved my school game. i can easily put people on cards and outplay them at the same time. cheers 4 buying my dinner guys.
So onto tonight. 3 main hands to talk about.
the first happened when i limped with K10 off on button. the flop came KQ9. 1 guy raised 5x bb and me and another called. the turn was a J giving me the str8. he bet loads the other guy folded and i called. the river was a harmless 5 and he shipt it all in. i obvously called and won with the straight as he flips K3. moron
The second is a rite beauty; i get AA 2 b4 button. there is a bet,call,raise,call then i reraise, others fold leavin me and 1 other who reraises so i reraise al in n he calls. the flop is 10 high and he shows AKd. SHIP IT!!
This last hand is stupid but just wanted t kno wot u guys think. i have AQc n raise it to 3x bb in fairly early position. 1 called and blinds fold. the flop is j high 2 clubs. so this guy ships it for $2.46 when there is 30c in pot so i fold. thats the right thing to do rite?
managed to more than double my BR in last few days-very happy with myself

What a day
tonight started off perfectly-i booked my leeds festival ticket and bought another to sell. i put it on ebay and within 5 minutes its goin for £150-the same price i bought it for. how much will this sell? only time will tell.
anyway onto the important stuff. what a night iv had i poker tonight. i went to monks X tonight and purchased my second poker book with a gift voucher i got for Xmas. i havent read any yet tho
ive been feeling really positive about poker today which has probably run off the back of yesterday. 1 hand stands out tonight when i had aces. 4 to the flop as i reraised preflop. last to act i call a raise after the flop which shows 2 diamonds all rags. the next card pairs the board and again first to act raises large. actually 22x bb lol. both call and i figure atleast 1 has the flush draw so i raise all in for another 70x bb happy to take down the pot if no1 calls. i get 1 caller and the river is no diamond. he flips his flush draw with an up/down str8 draw and i rake a huge pot.
i have hit afew other cards and played well tonight with the exception of now being able to get away from my AQ when i know another guy has the set of aces. overall a pleasing night.

So what? its profit
Before i start, i just wanted to thank Brent for the advice in the last post.
So thankfully today was a new day. i worked till 12.45 today so again i havent had much time to play. im looking forward to easter when i have no work on and plenty of time to play.
anyway not much to say because iv only played 30 mins today but iv made abit of profit which is always nice to hear

i decided to save this blog and add to it before posting. so i got back from work n 3rd hand in hit AA. i was just before the button and after a limp and a raise i reraised then got raised all in so i called and the other guy called. the flop came 2 5 10 2hearts so i was feeling confident. turn and river brought 2 more hearts leaving 4 on the board. 1 guy shows pocket 5s with a heart. the other guy mucks and i have spade diamond AA so also much. what a joke.

Determined not to give up i carried on the grind hoping teh cards would come-and they did. i got down to $1 on 1 of my tables when a guy kept betting with 7 high and an inside straight draw and hit on the river. i managed to build this up to $8.50 playing hands like 99 and JJ like heaven when i hit a set on the flop and a 10 high board respectively with my jacks.
so today has been a day of ups and downs but atleast i have found you can hit hands and outplay people at the lower levels.

Is this really poker?
Im not sure what i am doing is such a good idea. the stakes are just so low you get such terrible players who refuse to lay down straight draws. i had a player just then calling a raise and a reraise from me when i had AA with Q5. maybe i should go with the original plan of depositing $100 and starting again so my BR has the capacity to play slightly higher stakes of $.05/.1 so the players, if you can call them that, wont chase every draw under the sun.

ok so my accounts still only on $23.31 but so what? iv only played 30 mins or so and i feel i am playing well on such shite limits. the players actually r rubbish. every so often you get a player whos dusnt go all in with A3 but on party they seem friendly and fine about losing a couple of quid so its all good. im out tonight so wont play anymore tonight. usually i mite fire up n play some MTTs rebuys or wotever is going but not now. NO TIRED /DRUNK or TILTED poker remember?

DAY 1
iv changed my mind slightly. iv decided to use the little BR i have on party and see what i can turn that into when playing good solid poker on 4 tables at once, even if it is on embarassing $.02/.04 blinds but its all my BR can afford right now. iv played for 45 mins or so tonight. tried some raises in late position with rag aces and played good poker. 1 real hand stood out. i have AQc in late position. UTG a guy who has been playn fairly aggressive after losing a hand raises all in for $2.50, and i decide to call a.because there was only me and the blinds left in and b. because i put him on a week hand from his previous betting patterns. he turns A3 and i hit a Q on flop. game over

My new challenge
Ive read many blogs on here from both friends and strangers and found them thoroughly enjoyable and benefitial to me so i have decided to set myself a challenge-the challenge to become a grinder and care about if i lose, reflecting on why this happened rather than just taking it and shooting up another table blaming other people on calling when perhaps i allowed them to hit and really it was my fault i was knocked out.
I want to improve my game, and in doing so earn steady money for an 18 year old still in college. i play to start Partypoker under a new name and with $100 to get me going. i have decided to play mainly cash games playing 4-6 at a time low limit of only $.05/.1 and eventually moving up as my BR increases. i will play only when i feel confident in myself and stop if i think im tilting. im also going to buy afew poker books and gain knowledge about playing positions and players rather than just the cards im dealt. wish me luck. the grind starts now

My poker journey began when i was 16. i downloaded partypoker not really understanding the game too much. i knew the basic card ranks and had got the buzz after watching my brother play his low limit games on blue sqr. obviously i wasnt old enough to deposit funds so i would go on the play money tables not really caring if i won or lost.
Just before my 17th birthday i found that my dad had an account on willhill and that you could play online poker there. i won a football bet which i had put on earlier that year on liverpool which got my online poker career started with a BR of £10. i played £1.20 STTs and managed to increase my BR to £30 in a week or 2. obviously beginners luck. a few months later i ended up £50/60/70 down and had been withdrawing money from my dads account without him knowing. he found out and tried to stop me playing online. i started playing MTTs with bigger rewards and won my first tournament winning £97. i payed back my dad and closed the account as i found the beats on this site were fast and predictable. i opened a real money account on partypoker using my brothers card and began slowly increasing my BR from $57 to around $330 in a couple of months as i only played $6 STT. i withdrew £120 and started again to make sure i didnt play stakes which i felt were too high for the amount of money i had coming in from my job which was only around £25 a week so £120 seemed a lot at this time. i had a run of 2 months or so when my BR drifted up and down without anything really happening. in August i discovered football betting on partybets.com and withing 2 weeks of betting on accumilators of 5 or 6 games won my first larger bet and took $160 increasing my BR to about $250. in the months that followed my poker play went really well and i was full of convidence bluffing at right times and almost always placing top 3 still in $6 STTs.
Turning 18 in september i began playing more often and accidently entered my first ever limit MTT with a friend who is alot more experienced than me. i came 1st and won $417 dollars-the biggest win of my poker career so far. i withdrew £350 leaving my BR at $150 but since then things started to go down hill. i dont seem to hit cards and my game has gone downhill so the main reason for starting this, like many other players is to try and focus more when playing and take the game more seriously.
so thats just abit about my poker background. now onto the challenge i plan to set myself
